Manganese Plate

200 BHN work hardens to 550 BHN

Mangalloy Steel Plate is an 11 – 14% Mn steel that performs best in extreme impact applications. Under shock and impact, it nearly triples its initial surface hardness while retaining its interior toughness and acquires a high polish. Mangalloy steel is also non-magnetic.

With years of experience as a Mangalloy steel plate distributor, Ford Steel understands which Mn wear plate product is right for your application.

Applications:

  • Shot Blast Equipment Liners
  • Crusher Liners
  • Abrasive, Non-Magnetic Applications

Available Services:

Recommend using plasma or laser, but can be flame cut with oxygen-acetylene and water jet.

Cold blending and cold roll forming can be performed.

Due to Mangalloy’s work hardening feature, special tooling such as carbide tipped or high-speed cobalt tools are required.

Preheating is not advised. When welding Mangalloy to Mn use Mn welding rod, such as McKay Hardalloy 118. When welding Mangalloy to a dissimilar metal use 308, 309 or 310 stainless steel coated electrodes.
